Lena Melis Koneberg is an artist of German and Turkish descent. She studied in Italy (Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia) and Germany (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden), where she earned a master’s degree (Meisterschülerin) in Fine Arts in 2026. Since 2024, she has been a member of zolforosso venezia, a studio space run by local artists. Her works have been exhibited in Venice (2026, 2025, and 2021), Paris (2022), and Chemnitz (2026), as well as in other cities. In 2023–2024, she spent seven months working in a glassworkshop in Murano, where she began to incorporate blown glass into her artistic practice. In fall 2024, she was awarded with the “Lindenau Stipendium” for emerging young artists. This spring (2026) she won the “Place of Wonders” fellowship, allowing her to learn techniques of venetian flameworking.

At the heart of her artistic practice lies a keen sensitivity towards material and craftmansship as well as a very attentive awareness of her surroundings. Throughout the work, she constantly negotiates the relationship between material and perception. In addition to painting, drawing, ceramics, and her work with glass, the archiving of ‘trinkets’ (cards, fruit, glassfragments or else) is an integral part of her creative process.
